Dispute halts Airways talks
PA Wellington Mediation talks between the Airways Corporation and the Public Service Association have broken down because of an industrial dispute in Christchurch, the corporation said yesterday. The corporation’s human resources manager, Mr Gene O’Neill, said that negotiations between Airways and the P.S.A. were at a delicate stage but dates had been set for the possible resumption of talks.
The protracted award talks began in October, with Airways employees represented by the P.S.A. Mediation began last week but on Friday afternoon the corporation issued a statement saying it could not continue while an industrial dispute was in progress.
