Another 20 trade on SEATS
NZPA-AAP Sydney Another 20 stocks will begin trading on the Australian Stock Exchange’s automated screen trading system (SEATS) yesterday. SEATS will be expanded further on February 1 when an additional 200 stocks will be added to the system, bringing the total to 240. The stocks to begin trading today are 20 actively . traded industrial and mining stocks, together with associated rights and options. They include industrials Amcor, Boral, Humes, Comalco, building materials conglomerate James Hardie Industries,
transporter Mayne Nickless, retailer Woolworths, merchant Burns Philp and Co, property developer Hooker Corp, and chemicals group ICI Australia. Among mining stocks are gold companies Consolidated Exploration, Emperor Mines, Gold Mines of Kalgoorlie, Kidston Gold Mines, Noranda Pacific and Norgold. Oil and gas companies to begin trading are Peko Oil, Ampol Exploration, Claremont Petroleum, Genoa Resources and Investment.
These will be added to the 20 active industrial and mining stocks which have been trading on SEATS in Sydney and
Melbourne since October 19. The decision to proceed with the expansion of screen trading followed requests from brokers, according to the stock exchange.
