Tyson ‘doesn’t scare’ Bruno
NZPA-AFP London The English heavyweight boxer, Frank Bruno, believes he can end the unbeaten run of the undisputed world champion, Mike Tyson. “I know people are bound to think I belong on a funny farm but the more I see of Tyson, the more I fancy my chances,” said the number one contender for the American’s World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council titles. “Men of power are the only ones who are going to beat Tyson and I’m a man of power, getting stronger and stronger every day. “I realise Mike is a very dangerous individual but, without sounding big-headed or boastful in any way, he
doesn’t scare me in the slightest. "Tyson appears to have two hammers in his hands but, apart from Tony Tucker, all his world title fights have been against those well past their best and it was Tucker who gave the champ the most problems. 'T’ve said all along I want to fight Tyson and I’m still looking forward to it very much. Nothing I saw on the telly of his victory over Larry Holmes has made me change my mind.” Bruno, whose only world title fight so far ended in an eleventh round stoppage defeat by the American, Tim Witherspoon, in 1986, is likely to face Tyson on September 3 in London.
