Chance for adventure
Abseiling, kayaking and caving are among the activities in two women’s adventure courses being run by the Young Men’s Christian Association. The first course is for beginners with little or no experience and the second is for slightly advanced participants. Both are run over five weeks and are taken by qualified intructors. The women’s adventure course, stage one, will begin on February 23, with a morning of abseiling
and rock climbing on the Rapaki Rocks.
The other activities include kayaking at Queen Elizabeth II Park and on the Waimakariri River, caving at Lyttelton, and sailing. A day’s kayaking on the Waimakariri River will launch the stage two course, and the initial adventure will be sustained throughout the five weeks with sailing outings, rafting on the Hurunui River, and caving and abseiling at Castle Hill.
