French aid
France has awarded 70 million francs ($19.6 million) in aid to Fiji which quit the Commonwealth last year. The money is made up of 30 million francs ($8.4 million) in grants and 40 million francs ($ll.l million) in bank credit guarantees. As part of the total, France is to give a helicopter ambulance and trucks for use in rural development—Paris.
