Current staff establishment is eight nurses, including Principal Nurse and Relief Midwife; Cook, and Gardener. During 1987 there were 125 admissions, and 56 births. Murupara is situated 66km from Rotorua, and 95km from Whakatane. The area is renowned for its hunting, fishing, tramping, and river rafting.
