‘Simplistic policies a factor’
The Labour Government’s simplistic policies had been a contributing factor in the sharemarket crash, according to the Yaldhurst electorate branch of the National Party. “Mr Douglas has a lot of explaining to do. How can we trust a Government which has misled us and whose simplistic policies were a contributing factor in the sharemarket crash?” a branch spokesman, Mr Bert Walker, said.
The branch had called on politicians to provide an effective lead in cleaning up the mess facing New Zealand. New Zealand’s most valuable asset — people — had been completely ignored by the Labour Government, Mr walker said.
