Youth of the Year chosen

PA New Plymouth A Rotorua woman has been declared Lions Youth of the Year. She is Anne Jones, aged 18. The convenor of the quest, Mr Graeme Harvie, announced the winner’s name in Hawera. The runner-up is Richard Batts, aged 18, of Christchurch. They were chosen after Lions Club regional, district and national eliminations from about 100 entrants in the annual contest. As part of her title, Miss Jones will represent New Zealand at an international youth camp in Japan in July, followed by a tour of Japan.
