League contract signed
PA New Plymouth The Taranaki and Maori All Black rugby representative, Charlie McAlister, yesterday signed a six-figure contract to play league in England. McAlister, aged 24, who will play lor the Oldham first division side, has a
contract worth more than $lOO,OOO, and will start the season at the end of the month. The former Waitara freezing worker told the “Taranaki Herald” by telephone from Yorkshire yesterday that the com tract was for three years and also involved a house, a car and a job.
