Peter Ayres suspended
PA Foxton A Palmerston North jockey, Peter Ayres, will miss riding at Trentham tomorrow as the result of a one-day suspension received at the Foxton meeting on Wednesday. Ayres was found guilty of careless
riding in the Farewell Handicap No 1. He allowed his mount Abyssinia to shift out under the whip about 250 metres from the finish, causing interference to third-placed Serenade. Abyssinia was relegated from first to third.
