Chinese applaud N.Z. film
PA Wellington The National Film Unit's first film to be screened publicly in China has won top honours at the International Scientific Film Festival in Peking. The film, “Sketches in Design,” was directed by David Sims and produced by Tony Williamson. "We are hoping it will be the beginning of a developing relationship between the unit and our Chinese counterparts,” said the unit’s manager, Doug Eckhoff. Festival judges praised the film for its “visual windmill of vivid impressions.” China’s cultural attache to New Zealand, Shu Zhang, presented the festival award to Mr Eckhoff. <•
