Consultancy trust fund
PA Wellington The Government plans to set up a pilot consultancy trust fund with an initial capital of $500,000 to help New. Zealand consultancy firms compete for World Bank development projects. Announcing this, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Marshall, in a joint statement with the Mister of Overseas
Trade and Marketing, Mr Moore, said the fund would help transfer New Zealand technology to developing countries and be defined as official development assistance. The trust fund, financed by the Market Development Board and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, would be based in Washington and administered by the World Bank which would identify
land consultants for feasibility studies of projects it was considering financing. “Participation in a project at this early stage would greatly improve the chances of our consultants securing further work from the Bank by building up a proven track record,” Mr Moore said. The fund is due to begin next March and be promoted by the Market Development Board.
