Danish tanker hit
NZPA-Reuter Dubai One crewman was killed and another seriously Injured yesterday when Iranian Revolutionary Guards fired rocket propelled grenades at a Danish tanker in the southern Gulf, shipping sources reported. A rescue helicopter sent to the 47,650-tonne Estelle Maersk crashed onto the vessel while trying to land, causing no further injuries but badly damaging the aircraft. The sources said the helicopter crash meant two sailors injured in the Iranian attack, one of whom lost a leg and both bleeding profusely, could not be taken quickly to hospital. Instead they had to be transferred by launch from a point two miles off Dubai. The man who lost his leg died, the sources added. They said the Iranians fired at least six grenade®. Most of them exploded above the ship, causing little damage, but ftw ments hit the two cms men standing on the deck below. They had apnamtty not taken cover becaw the Iranian attack eaifto withddt warning. ”
