Twelve apply for project
PA Wellington About a dozen applications have been received to pilot a cervical cancer screening project here. An application by the Newtown Union Health Clinic has been supported by the Service Workers’ Federation and Distribution Workers’ Federation. Applications officially closed on Tuesday, but will be received until the week-end, for funding of $30,000 a year for three years by the Health Department for a pilot screening project. The department announced in October it would provide funding for an innovative scheme which helped low income women to obtain cervical cancer screening.
