Student fares extended
Ansett New Zealand has extended discount fares to students. The offer was to have finished at the end of this month, but will now be available to students permanently. Students may purchase 50 per cent stand-by fares from Ansett New Zealand airport ticketing
counters. If they want to travel on a positive basis, they can get a 25 per cent discount when buying their tickets from travel agents or from the airline. The airline’s general manager marketing, Mr Peter Wilson, said students had responded enthusiastically to the
special fares, which the airline introduced when jet services began on the trunk routes in July, and these would now become permanent Everyone knew students had slim budgets, so the fares were Ansett New Zealand’s way of lending a helping hand, he said.
