Student envoy for Expo 88

PA Hamilton A Waikato pupil has become Youth Ambassador for New Zealand at World Expo 'BB in Brisbane next year. A Hamilton Girls’ High School pupil, Me-Lam Wong, is one of 16 youth ambassadors chosen to promote New Zealand at Expo ’BB.

An expo is a world fair with exhibits and demonstrations showing cultural and technological achievements. The theme of the Expo is “leisure in the age of technology,” while New Zealand’s . individual theme is “New Zealand through the eyes of youth.”

The ambassadors’ objectives will be to provide Expo information links through schools for young New Zealanders, and help young New Zealanders to develop qualities of national spirit, leadership and independence. The 14-year-old was told of her success and
