Industry costs down
Political reporter A significant reduction in the prices paid by New Zealand industries has been recorded in the latest Producers’ Price Index. The September quarter increase was 1.4 per cent, measuring input prices for goods and services, excluding labour. In the March and June quarters, increases of 2.3 per cent were recorded. For the year to September, the Producers’ Price Index rose by 9.6 per cent.
The biggest increases recorded in the. September quarter were business and finance service charges,
