Exports fall

Merchandise exports incurred an 11.4% fall in October to 5876.4 M compared with the previous corresponding period, the Statistics Department said. Exports to New Zealand’s top trading partners for the four months to October 31 were: Japan, 5683.4 M (17.9% of total exports); Australia, 5660.1 M (17.3%), United States 5543.7 M (14.3%), United Kingdom, 5364.9 M (9.6%), the Federal Republic of Germany, 596.1 M (2.5%), and Belgium, 587.1 M (2.3%).
