Bid rejected
NZPA-Reuter Hong Kong A Hong Kong court has rejected a bid for compensation by a former shareholder of the Overseas Trust Bank, taken over by the Hong Kong Government in 1985. A High Court Justice ruled that a. decision in July by a special govem-
ment tribunal not to compensate shareholders was final.
The ruling effectively ends hope of compensation for 327- other shareholders who filed claims before the Government acquired all the bank’s shares on June 8, 1985.
