J. Wood, the American blues guitarist who was featured at the Whitecliffs Music Festival earlier this year, returns to New Zealand this month.
This time he is bringing his band, the Blues Commandos, and he is playing in New Zealand for two months, ending at the Neon Picnic, before heading to Australia. Wood’s dates include the Playroom, MacKenzie’s Hotel, for three consecutive nights beginning this evening: McKenzie Country Motor Inn, Twizel, on December 7; Terminus Hotel, Timaru, December 18 and 19; Riwaka Hotel, Motueka, on December 22 and 23; Globe Tavern, Takaka, on December 26; and Nelson’s Exchange Nightclub, December 27 to 29. Over the New Year, J. Wood will be at the Powerhouse, the new nightclub at the Bush Inn courts.
