Furniture seminar
Robert La Trobe-Bate-man, an English designer and furniture maker, will give a seminar in Christchurch next week.
He will arrive in Christchurch for the seminar next Tuesday from Australia where he has been speaking at the Australian National Wood Conference.
He will conduct the day-long seminar at the Sullivan Avenue branch of the Christchurch Polytechnic before leaving for Auckland for a similar seminar.
He is a leader in British furniture design using an asymmetric line and form. He has spent the last year in the United States.
The seminar has been organised by the Furniture Group, a small band of furniture makers who got together last year.
All furniture makers, designers and craftspeople are welcome to attend. The seminar will begin at 10 a.m. and run to 4 p.m. The fee is $35.
