Priest to act as consultant
PA Wellington A New Zealand woman priest will attend next year’s Anglican Church Lambeth Conference as a consultant. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev.
Robert Runcie, has invited the Rev. Margaret Wood to the conference after discussing the isssue of women priests this year with New Zealand’s Archbishop Brian Davis and other Church leaders. Women are still not ad-
mitted to the priesthooo in England. “It is both a tremendous honour and a tremendous responsibility,” Miss Wood said. She is chaplain at Bishop Julius Hall, an Anglican women’s hostel in Christchurch.
