A significant market is also developing for our products in Australia. Our modern plant at Mosgiel (15 minutes drive from Dunedin city) is a design and build facility both for our extensive model mix of appliances and also for much of our special purpose production machinery. The work environment is congenial and our engineering team is supported with sophisticated resources including C.A.D. (Catia Software) and M.R.P. We have planned major development activity and wish to complement our Engineering team with the following skills. PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER THIS POSITION is concerned with the development of our broad range of products from the conceptual to the prototype fabrication stage. There is also extensive involvement in continuous improvement and value engineering of current products. Accurate and detailed draughting skills together with a sense of flair are important attributes required for this position. Experience with sheetmetal and plastics technologies is preferable. Tertiary qualifications to B.E. or N.Z.C.E. level majoring in mechanical or electrical subjects are considered a pre-requisite for this position. PLANT DESIGN ENGINEER To perform effectively in a rapidly changing commercial environment, our company has adopted a flexible manufacturing philosophy. An important ingredient in this approach is the utilisation of special purpose on line machinery. This machinery incorporates Modicon P.L.C.s, hydraulics, pneumatics, tooling and electrical systems. Well-developed draughting skills are essential and experience with a C.A.D. system is desirable. B.E. or N.Z.C.E. in Mechanical Engineering are appropriate qualifications for this position. INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER Flexible manufacturing requires new technologies and manufacturing processes. Careful planning and investigation of possible options for material flows, plant layouts, new technologies and associated capital investment are researched and reported on by our Industrial Engineering staff. The person we are seeking to assist in this important role will possess formal qualifications in industrial engineering and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of current industrial engineering thinking. TOOL DESIGN ENGINEER We are seeking an experienced tool designer who will work alongside our present team. The position involves the design of tools for power presses and special purpose machinery, jigs and fixtures.
