Tenders REGISTRATION OF INTEREST LONG RANGE AIR WARNING RADAR APPLICATIONS are Invited from companies interested in providing a Long Range Air Warning (LRAW) radar for Installation in HMNZ Ships Canterbury and Wellington. The radar Is to replace the radar type 365 presently fitted to the ships. Companies registering Interest should meet the following criteria. (a) The radar is In service with other Navies. (b) The company Is an approved military contractor to the parent Government. The broad requirements of the radar are: (a) A detection range of air tracks of the same order as that provided by radar Type 965. (b) To display video on existing ship radar displays. (c) To interface with a Command and Control system. (d) To have an ECCM capability. (e) A height finding, that Is 3D, capability is desirable. (f) The total weight of the antenna, IFF and pedestal driving arrangements should be In the order of 1000 kg. Firms registering their interest shall provide: (a) Information relevant to the criteria in paragraphs 2 and 3. (b) Budgetary costs for the following: (1) Two ship systems with unstablllsed antenna. (2) Two ship systems with stabilised antenna. (3) Two ship systems and one spare antenna. (4) Spares. (5) Installation. (6) Ongoing support. (7) Training for both operators and maintainers; state whether this would be provided in New Zealand or overseas. It should be noted that these budgetary costs are for planning purposes only and will not be used as a basis for shortlisting.
