Staff cut by broker
PA Auckland A big Auckland stockbroking firm has axed 30 of its staff in the aftermath of the sharemarket crash. Staff at Buttle Wilson were told of the firm’s difficulties and redundancies at a meeting in Auckland. After the meeting all staff had an envelope on their desks either confirming they still had a job or telling them they were redundant. The lay-offs come as no surprise as staff at stockbrokers around the country say they have been expecting cuts.
