Pupil in hospital recovering
A Papanui High School pupil was progressing favourably in Dunedin Hospital yesterday after being flown by helicopter from the Mount Aspiring area on Sunday. Jillian Ball, aged 17, underwent surgery for appendicitis. She had been picked up by an Air Force helicopter from a hut on the mountain and taken to Cromwell Hospital before being driven by ambulance to Dunedin. Miss Ball was with a big party of sixth form students on an end-of-year trip.
