Study award to council engineer

A Christchurch City Council engineering assistant has been given one of four local government study awards. Mr William Greenwood will study neighbourhood environmental and trafficaccident remedial planning as part of his award. He will undertake his study programme in Britain and visit the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents at the Transport Department’s training centre in Bedfordshire. Mr Greenwood began his local government career in 1984. He had previously worked for the Ministry of Works and Development In Wellington and Christchurch. He holds a New Zealand Certificate in engineering. The study awards were developed by the Joint Council for Local Authorities Services and Air New Zealand and Shell Oil, Ltd.
