Netball coach steps aside
After tour seasons coaching the Canterbury netball team Kay O’Reilly will step for next year. Leigh Gibbs, the NewZealand captain for the World Tournament and Ethna Rouse, a durable Canterbury country coach, will be vying to fill her shoes. The position will be decided at a Canterbury Netball Association execu-
tive meeting this evening. Although Gibbs had originally indicated that she interested in umat the next world championships in 1991 the Canterbury association has welcomed her decision to also coach. Gibbs was nominated by the Sacred Heart club and Rouse was put forward by the St Nicholas
club. . The under 21 coaching position will also be decided with Pat Carrick (St Nicholas) the incumbent being challenged by Pat Barry, Margaret Taylor (Riccarton) and Linda Manning (Hagley). The under 18 and under 16 coaches will be decided near $ the start of next season. .
