IPE issue off
NZPA Sydney Inter-Pacific Equity, the Trans-Tasman investment company, has postponed a 5NZ32.5 million convertible note issue and proposes to delay calls on partly-paid shares because of the sharemarket downturn. The chairman, Mr Malcolm McConnell, told the first
annual meeting of the diversified group, which includes McConnell Dowell, that profit trends for the first six months of this financial year would be satisfactory. Plans for the convertible note issue, approved by shareholders in October, have been postponed until sharemarkets improve.
