Queenstown to host N.Z. food and wine fiesta
Taste New Zealand, the New Zealand Tourist and Publicity Department’s major 1988 food and tourism campaign, will be launched from Queenstown in January during Summerbration ’BB, the resort’s summer festival. The festival will include a wine and food fiesta at which New Zealand produce and beverages can be sampled or displayed. Taste New Zealand will be launched at the fiesta. 'i ■ Mr Dennis Winchester, president of the Queenstown Promotion Bureau, said Taste New Zealand would be a major promotion combining food and wine with tourism. Taste New Zealand has been designed to identify restaurants which feature fresh New Zealand produce on their menus and to encourage regional events with food connotations where visitors could experience food or beverage. Mr Winchester said the fiesta would run for. three days from January 25 in large marquees on the shores of Lake Wakatipu.
