Margaret Bazley, winner of the “More” Air New Zealand businesswoman of the Year Award, wears a pure wool three-piece outfit created for her by John Juriss, of Christchurch. John was the young winner of the 1987 Benson and Hedges “Wool in Fashion award,” presented by the Wool Board. Part of the prize for the award this year was a commission to design a daywear ensemble for the Businesswoman of the Year.
Commenting on the red and black pure
wool outfit, Ms Bazley said: “I demand a lot from my clothes. Often I am the only woman in a highpowered business meeting, so I have to look right I think this outfit is marvellous and I will get a lot of wear out of it”
After winning the award John left school to pursue a career in the fashion industry. He is now building up his clientele and designing clothes for the high-fashion market Race day designs of his were worn at feature meetings last month.
