Counter worker punched

A worker at the Dog House burger bar in Cathedral Square, Christchurch, was punched in the face about 6 p.m. yesterday when he asked a person in the burger bar to leave.

The assailant, a young man, ran out of the burger bar pursued by his victim and was caught in Worcester Street by the police who arrived on the scene as the incident happened, after a call from a woman in the burger bar.

The police said a man, aged 23, had been arrested and charged with assault He will appear in the District Court this morning.
