Lamb price averages $22 on video
PA Wellington A record 28,000 crossbred lambs were sold for an average of $22 at Elders’ Pastoral’s video lamb auction held last week in Oamaru. The manager, of Elders’ Oamaru branch, Mr Lex Keith, said the average price at last year’s lamb auction became an industry indicator for the early part of that season and he was confident this would be repeated. . This year’s average price was $l.BO up on last year. The 26 lots on offer were sold in under an hour, with the most lambs going to Southland and Canterbury. The top price was $24.50
