TV to help commission
“Newsline,” Television One’s mid-day talkback programme, is returning for a week in an attempt to assist the Royal Com-
mission on Social Services in Its work (11.35 nan.). In a unique exercise in access television, members of the Royal Commission will appear on screen dally to answer viewers* questions and receive points of view. The first programme, today, presented by Angela D’Audney, will be devoted to setting up the tasks and work of the commission. From Tuesday to Friday; each one of four commissioners Will take submissions on a different subject. The commission’s wide brief is to prepare a blueprint for the changes which need to be made to ensure New Zealand is a fairer society, and the commission emphasises its concern is for everyone. not just those on various welfare benefits.
