Handicap overcome
PA Masterton A six-point handicap was not enough to stop Olympic squad rider, links Pottlnger, from winning yesterday’s one day horse trial at Masterton. Pottinger, riding the previous novice ihree-day event champion Copyright, won the class by just under four points from another Olympic squad rider, Andrew Scott, who filled second and third on the novices, Umtee and
Black Tower. As an intermediate, Copyright was handicapped against his novice rivals. Pottinger will head for Rotorua next Sunday for the Bell Tea three-day event at Pukekohe running from December II to 13. She is still searching for a sponsor and considering having to sell one of her two Olympic horses to cover the costs.
