Kickboxing contest
Kickboxing enthusiasts were treated to a fine , display of fighting at the Papanui rugby league club rooms in Sawyers Arms Road on Saturday evening. Nine fights featured on the programme and the competition was held as a preliminary event to the North versus South Island championship on December 5 at the Addington Show Grounds. Growing Interest in the sport was evident with more than 400 spectators turning up. Bouts were held over three two-minute rounds.
