South Brighton in dominant position

South Brighton is expected to extend its lead in the A section of the top division of the Christchurch three fours bowls competition when it plays the bottom side, Sydenham I, in the fourth round today. Papanui L which holds a one-point lead over Burnside II in section B, also has prospects of a maximum eight points from its match against lowly St Albans I. The other matches are all likely to be closely contested. In section A they will be between Linwood I and Burnside I, Woolston Park I and Spreydon I, and Papanui II and Sumner I. In the other section tight tussles are expected between Burnside II and Woolston W.M.C. I, Rangiora I and Papanui 111, and Kaiapoi I and Hornby W.M.C. I.
