Porsche for sale at $800,000

NZPA Londcn New limited-edition Ferrari and Porsche sports cars are doubling their value and changing hands several times before delivery, “Die Times" has reported. Porsche has manufactured just 40 of its 306 km/ h 959 model at £150,000 ($433,000) each, but second-hand cars are already selling for more than twice that price. The company is being sued by one angry Austrian who was struck off the order list after Porsche discovered he planned to sell a 959 for a quick profit after delivery. "Owning a Porsche 959 is a better investment than the stock market,” said Porsche’s chairman, Peter Schutz. Ferrari built 200 GTO models which sold for £75,000 ($216,000) each but they are now changing hands at up to £200,000 ($577,000). “The Times” said it was ironic that the makers, who develop supercars as mobile technology showcases at great expense, would not benefit from the huge rise in value of the cars.
