Evans’ scholarship
PA Wellington The All Whites fullback, Cert Lee Evans, is one of the two Rhodes scholars for 1987, the University Grants Committee announced yesterday. Evans, aged 24, of Christchurch, and Christopher Garson Wong, aged 23, of Auckland, were the successful candidates for
the scholarship which allows for study at Oxford University, England, said the committee spokeswoman, Raewyn Crowther. Evans, a member of the All Whites soccer team since 1983, plans to study for a B.A. in psychology and philosophy at Oxford.
