Woman in command
A woman has been appointed for the first time to permanently command a police station in New Zealand. Sergeant Colleen Mullins has been made officer-in-charge of Bal-
moral police station in the Auckland Central division. Sergeant Mullins joined the police in 1965 and since then has served in the Auckland region. She was promoted sergeant in 1977.
