Write-off
Gold explorer Giant Resources, an Ariadne Australia associate, wrote off $234.6 million in extraordinary items during the June 30 year. Directors said this included $6.4M from the operations and disposal of its former building industry supplies group, and $225.06M written off as the difference between the purchase price and the fair carrying value of operations bought during the year.
