‘Sinbad’

The Christchurch Theatre Workshop’s production of "Sinbad” is on stage this week.

Brian Brodie will direct the traditional pantomime from the script written by John Twinn. The show will be performed at the Repertory Theatre from October 7 to 10.

In a departure from tradition, the principal role Is this year played by a male, Stephen Taylor. This is because Sinbad is a physically demanding role, requiring the actor to climb a mountain and be carried by a giant bird.

Patrick Nolan is the Dame. “She” and Sinbad combine in a series of slapstick episodes.

Dancers and a large chorus bring the cast number to about 50.
