Sir, — I disagree with Ruth Zanker (September 29). It is neither healthy nor desirable for people to sit around all day discussing their relationships or getting in touch with their emotions. Such "discussions” really mean “Tell me again how wonderful I am, darling!” and betray the same profound sense of insecurity that spawns the garbage portrayed in the evenings which she so sensibly abhors. They are two sides of the same coin and should be acknowledged as such, rather than presented as opposites, one of which is somehow preferable. — Yours, etc., STEVEN SHAW
