The programme, funded by the ( Bernard van Leer Foundation and the Depart- , ment of Education, alms to provide benefits J for Pacific Island children, parents and com- ( munities In New Zealand through building on ■ and strengthening their own Initiatives and , resources. ■ Three positions are available: 1 FIELD DIRECTOR 1 RESEARCH ASSISTANT RESOURCE OFFICER The Field Director and Research Assistant J should preferably have a background In social science research, be familiar with early childhood education and have experience with ' community development and consultation. The Resource Officer should have experience In early childhood education and In the development of resources. It is desirable that applicants be bilingual In English and a Pacific Island language. While It Is expected that the Project Office will be located In Auckland, travel to other parts of New Zealand will be necessary. The three-year project will be staffed on a contract basis and job-sharing, part-time contracts and secondments will be considered.
