PA Wellington The Leader of the House, Mr Hunt (Lab., New Lynn), told Parliament yesterday he expected debate on the Ad-dress-In-Reply to the Speech from the Throne to be completed next week. If. debate ended before Wednesday evening the first Estimates day would be held on Thursday. In reply to a question by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Bolger, Mr Hunt said Parliament would begin on the Speaker’s estimates, and then the estimates for the Deputy Prime Minister. Mr Hunt said the estimates of the Prime Minister were not likely to be held unless Mr Lange was able to attend. An imprest supply debate would be held on Tuesday, October, 13. Mr John Banks (Nat., Whangarei) presented a petition of Patricia June Tuck, of Hamilton, and 5775 others, aimed against violence in society. The petition asked . that offenders serve the full sentence imposed on them by the courts, without any remission, and that no bail be allowed for serious crime. The Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Mr McKinnon, said he intended to move next sitting day that the House pay its respects to Jean Batten, who died in Majorca in 1983. The House adjourned for dinner at 5.30 p.m. The House resumed sitting at 7.30 p.m. Mr Paul East (Nat, Rotorua) moved the traditional amendment to the Ad-dress-In-Reply debate, saying that the Government had lost the confidence of Parliament . and New Zealand.. .
