South Island ski-field conditions as reported to the New Zealand Snow Centre yesterday (all facilities operating unless noted) were.—
Mount Hutt: 53cm average base; last fall scm September 22; variable spring snow; carry chains.
Coronet Peak: Last fall September 21; firm in the morning; upper mountain good; lower mountain very limited; double and triple chairs operating.
Fox Glacier: Last fall September 21; ski | plane and helicopter operating subject to weather. I Mount Cook heliski: Last fall 20cm September 21; wind blown powder snow. Ohau: 21cm base; last fall 2cm September 21; T-bar and platter operating; wind packed snow.
The Remarkables: 100 cm base average depth; last fall 15cm September 21; wind blown powder snow; carry chains.
Treble Cone:! Last fall 10cm September ;21; all facilities operating except lower Tbar; carry chains.
