Court of Appeal yesterday cleared the way for publication of the book “Spycatcher” by rejecting Britain’s appeal against the temporary lifting of a ban.

The British Government has been given until Monday to seek leave

to appeal to the High court of Australia. The British Government’s counsel, Mr Bill Caldwell QC, said he expected an appeal would be made to the High Court but he asked for a stay so his clients could study the Appeal Court’s lengthy judgment.
