Spring debut delayed

Robinski, one. of the more promising gallopers in training at Riccarton, has had his spring debut delayed until the New Zealand Cup meeting. in November., Robinski was put aside and gelded after a trials outing last month. There are no complications from that operation and his trainer Tom Lalor is eye-
ing the $12,000 Shades Tavern Handicap on the final day of the Cup meeting as a pipe opener for a summer campaign. “We were reluctant to geld him for he was such a lovely colt to handle but it seemed the best , idea from a racing point of view,” Lalor said. Taiyo, a former member of the O’Sullivan stable at Matamata, is a recent addition to Paddy
Busuttin’s Riccarton stable. The Ace of Aces mare showed dash in her work on Tuesday and should be ready for an early southern debut .... She won a maiden 1600 m event at Counties last January with Lance O’Sullivan up but raced honestly without reward in a further light campaign.
