Zonta aid for pupil
A $5OO scholarship to be used at Lincoln College has been announced by the Zonta club of southwest Christchurch. The scholarship will be awarded to a girl pupil of Ellesmere College dr Cashmere, Hillmorton, or Lincoln high schools — the four secondary schools within the club’s area. The aim of the Zonta International Founders’ Day Scholarship is to encourage young women to study at tertiary level, and perhaps enter careers
where women are underrepresented. Applicants’ academic merit, contributions to the school and community, suitability for the course of study chosen, and family and financial circumstances will be considered. Applications should be lodged by October 10 with the president of the club, P.O. Box 28017, Christchurch. Application forms and full details are available from the principals of the four schools.
