New Amuri Courts premises
The public launch of the House of Travel Group of Companies has coincided with the opening of House of Travel Amuri Courts in the premises at 293 Durham Street formerly occupied by Nova Interiors, Limited. As manager of this outlet, John Ashcroft has a commitment to the implementation of computerised technology that will enable the company to provide its clients with not only the usual facilities for ticketing with airlines and providing hotel accommodation, checking whether visas are required and whether passports are current but also with a range of specialised services designed to remove the hassles of organising an overseas trip for the businessman and holiday traveller.
In managing House of Travel Amuri Courts John’s particular interest will be maintaining and servicing international travel arrangements for the' executive and business traveller.
Assisting John Ashcroft and giving a special emphasis to the holiday market will be Beth Yates who has returned to Christchurch after having spent a number of years
working and travelling around Europe. For three years Beth worked for a travel agency firstly as a senior travel consultant and then as the branch manager. House of Travel Amuri Courts will be provided with facilities that enable it to offer unique benefits to its clients. The experience available throughout the whole House of Travel group will be utilised to ensure that customers of the company benefit from rapid advice on all new promotional fares or special deals which are being introduced to the market place by domestic and international airlines and which, without professional experience and assistance, create a confused picture to the traveller. House of Travel Amuri Courts will be linked to other House of - Travel outlets by bureaufax so that notice of any airfare deals is immediately available to the travel consultants and passed on to the client. The group experience and size has enabled House of Trave) Amuri Courts to negotiate special corporate rates with hotels throughout Australasia, and elsewhere, while matching 1 the flexibility required by ;
the individual traveller with cost saving advantages. The company will also provide on a “no obligation” basis an itinerary planning service to tailor your flight arrangements with your business or holiday plans. For the executive and business traveller House of Travel Amuri Courts will be providing a 24 hour business travel service (to cater for emergencies) delivery oi tickets and itinerary, regular updating of your special requirements and priorities, and access to the full range of travellers’ cheques (in most currencies), telegraphic transfers and drafts. The company will assist you in organising travel incentive programmes, conferences, sporting and cultural tours and group arrangements for meetings, negotlating greater savings for you on airfares and accommodation both internationally and within New Zealand. The company is also negotiating its own travel insurance package with, as an addition a special executive or business travel insurance cover the benefits of which are significant. Credit card facilities will also be available.
